How can global peace be achieved without each of us taking responsibility for our own inner peace and tranquility? This is what needs to be addressed in 2009.

As we move into a new era how can we shift the focus to helping our fellow man?  Surely it can only be through acts of kindness, humility, selflessness and compassion.

Mankind has to take full responsibility for the global catastrophes on all fronts, from our economic crisis, causing much vulnerability, to human exploitation and global warfare. Call it karma - the universal law of cause and effect. What we will reap tomorrow can be sown constructively today – heeding the lessons of the last couple of years is certainly timely, as we ponder appropriate behaviours for the future – action today shapes the outcomes for tomorrow.

Our own greed and preoccupation with what makes us happy and prosperous will be replaced by a new wave of compassion and reflection on how each of us can contribute to making our universe a playground to be valued and appreciated.

The need for hedonism will be replaced with the need for simplicity and many will reflect on how we can support ourselves without the baggage we carry on our shoulders – from materialistic baggage to outmoded beliefs.

All that doesn’t serve us well needs to be eliminated.

The shift of Pluto into Capricorn will be seen as a major contributor in the orchestration of a new system of corporate finance and a restructuring of our business world. Governments will need to be accountable and the way we conduct ourselves on the professional front will go through a major orientation.
It is often said we get the government we ask for – and so we do but the bureaucracy that serves the people and the government has been found seriously wanting in protecting us from the unscrupulous.

A big shift in the thinking and actions of the financial regulators is sorely needed.

The past 13 years have resulted in expansion, and a huge surge of materialism, so now is the time to give serious and practical application to what we want to realistically achieve for balanced and harmonious living and a planet that is not plundered but nurtured.

All signs in one way or another will want to achieve their own utopia and will start to see the need to contribute in a meaningful way to making our world a safer and more peaceful haven for us all to live in greater harmony and joy.
